Smudges of the much older Vale Bridge HERE. Charles Henderson gives us this – “ … another tributary (of the Fowey) comes down from Cardinham but its name is not recorded (these days we call it Cardinham Water). Its deep twisting valley is well worth exploration, passing under the site of Cardinahm Castle and Vale Bridge, where stood the Chapel and Cell of Our Lady of the Vale.”

Lovely cafe, decent bogs, own website. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/cardinham
